“Many people ask me why I have chosen the image of a grasshopper for our logo.My reply is that when I was a child I used to accompany my father in his duties in the dryer. While there, I used to love to open the bags of tealeaves and see the crickets/ grasshoppers hiding inside. They were of different shapes and colors, but the ones I loved most were the big, green ones—just like the one depicted in our logo.
I used to observe with great admiration how the grasshoppers flew back to the field when the bags were opened. For that reason, when I had to choose an original image by which we would be identified and recognized, it had to be something related to tea and yerba mate, something different, something that came from the field, plantation, something alive, something ecological … to me, this was a large green grasshopper.”
