Organic Production
Organic farming is a self-sustaining economic activity with high added value. It promotes the creation of genuine employment due to its production techniques; and furthermore, encourages entrepreneurship. It also enforces sustainable local development and mainstreaming of ethical marketing systems; thus helping to establish solidarity between all members of society.
By practicing organic production, the Kraus family business creates jobs and increases the quality of life for all its members.
Kraus promotes loyalty within the area of Santo Domingo Savio through its collaboration with the local schools. For more than thirty years Kraus has assisted the School of Colonia in various activities, as well as the Pedro School Medrano Number 503, which through the management and direction of Nélida Kraus for the past 25 years has seen a new building constructed, as well as other school related projects.
In addition, organic farming has numerous benefits to both the environment and to human health. According to an article published in the national newspaper La Nación “the great benefit of organic foods is that they are absolutely free of chemical residues because the use of synthetic chemical products, such as herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers is not permitted. You can avoid potential health problems caused by foods which contain toxic waste, and protect future generations from toxic contamination. It protects soil and water quality and helps to preserve animal and plant biodiversity of the planet.” (La Nación National Newspaper, Saturday February 12, 2005).

It is an alternative way to trade which aims to promote voluntary and fair trade relationships between producers and consumers, ensuring that producers and workers have a share of the total profit, thus enabling them to improve their quality of life.

Kosher certification is the system of food quality control according to the Jewish rules known as Kosher. The terminology Kosher means fit and proper food according to biblical and Talmudic rules of Jewish law. Kosher supervision auditing is being done in our production plant by the supervisor of kosher certification to ensure that certain production batches comply with the standards and quality specifications required for Kosher food.
